Shinde government's 'atonement' for the fall of Shivaji Maharaj's statue, tender issued to install it higher than before

After the political uproar over the falling and breaking of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, the state government has now issued a tender for building a new statue. The Kankavali division of the Public Works Department has issued the tender. The state government has allocated Rs 20 crore for building the statue. Let us tell you that after the breaking of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Prime Minister Modi also apologized.

Ajay Kumar, Executive Engineer of PWD in Kankavali said, now we will be very careful. A new statue will be built on the lines of Statue of Unity in Gujarat. The earlier statue was 33 feet. Now a 60 feet statue will be installed. He said that the company which gets the tender will have to give a guarantee of at least 100 years. Apart from this, the company will also have to take care of it for 10 years. It has also been stipulated that the statue will be built in six months.

Let us tell you that this statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 4 December. However, it fell on 26 August. After this, the state government formed two committees to investigate the collapse of the statue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar publicly apologized for this.
