New Delhi. Janata Dal United’s senior leader and minister Ashok Choudhary’s stature has increased in the party. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has appointed him as the party’s national general secretary, which has increased his political responsibility even more. In recent times, Ashok Choudhary was in the news for his controversial tweet, despite this, CM Nitish has expressed his trust in him by giving him new responsibility.
New responsibility even after controversy
Ashok Choudhary was in the news recently due to controversial statements and tweets. He had taken a dig at the party leadership in gestures on social media, which seemed to indicate that there was internal dissatisfaction in JDU. One of his tweets had increased the political turmoil in Bihar. Choudhary had made several comments referring to ‘increasing age’, for which he was summoned to the CM House. However, after meeting CM Nitish Kumar, Choudhary’s attitude seemed to soften, and he tried to calm the controversy by calling the Chief Minister ‘Manas Pita’.
Politics heated up due to comments on Bhumihars
Ashok Choudhary’s recent comment on the Bhumihar community was also quite controversial. On August 31, he had said, “I know the Bhumihar caste very well. When the Lok Sabha elections took place, people of this caste deserted Nitish Kumar and ran away.” After this comment, JDU distanced itself from Choudhary’s statement and also advised him to be careful. This statement created a stir in Bihar politics and Ashok Choudhary was targeted.

A satire on ‘growing age’ through poetry
Ashok Chaudhary had also posted a poem on social media during the controversy, titled “Chhod Inche Yudh Mein Badhti Umr”. In this poem, he had taken a dig at various aspects of life and advised people to leave some things. In the poem, he had written:
“If someone is not understanding after explaining it once or twice then tell the other person, ‘Leave it.’
When children grow up and start taking their own decisions then following them, ‘leave it’.
You get your ideas from a select few people, but if you don’t get your ideas from a few people, then you say, ‘Leave them.’”
This poem also raised many questions in political circles and was seen as a sarcasm on the party leadership.
What will be Ashok Chaudhary’s attitude with the new responsibility?
However, despite the controversies, Ashok Choudhary being given the responsibility of National General Secretary has made it clear that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar still has faith in him. Now it remains to be seen how Choudhary fulfills this new responsibility and in which direction JDU’s political direction goes with his growing stature in the party.
