36 bulldozers attacked illegal constructions in Somnath.
Somnath: Major action is being taken by Gujarat administration against illegal constructions in the city. Since Friday night, about 36 bulldozers are engaged in demolishing these illegal constructions. 70 tractor-trolleys have been deployed to remove the debris. It is being told that this place will be used in Somnath Development Project. Here, many illegal constructions have been built in the rear part of Somnath temple, the administration team has arrived to remove them. At present, the action is going on since late night, although the action was also stopped for some time.
The people creating ruckus were removed
Actually, Gujarat government’s big bulldozer action is going on in Somnath. Before this, the survey went on here for months. After the completion of the survey work, the encroachment on the government land behind the Somnath temple is being vacated. Many new works have been done here in the last two years and after this action, the construction work of Somnath Temple Corridor is expected to gain further momentum. The operation to vacate the encroachment was started late at night. However, as soon as the action was taken, a crowd of local people gathered there and started creating ruckus. People also tried to stop the action, but the police somehow removed the people from there and the action was resumed.
Police forces deployed in large numbers
Considering the seriousness of the matter, a large number of police forces have been deployed. 1400 policemen have been deployed on the spot. Forces from many police stations are also present on the spot. The work of demolishing illegal construction is being done under the supervision of police. Officials say that this action will continue for some more time. At present the situation is under control and demolition work is going on.
