Despite being so beneficial for health, do you know that consuming excessive Vitamin D can cause many serious health-related harms instead of benefits to a person. What do experts say
According to experts, taking 60,000 international units (IU) of vitamin D daily for several months can cause toxicity in the body. Most adults need 600 IU of vitamin D per day, according to the RDA. Taking too much vitamin D can lead to vitamin D toxicity, also known as hypervitaminosis.

Due to excess of Vitamin D in the body, a person’s appetite may decrease. Actually, due to excess of Vitamin D, the amount of calcium in the blood starts accumulating. Which is also called hypercalcemia. Due to which the person may experience symptoms like nausea, vomiting, weakness and loss of appetite. If these symptoms appear, it is important to get a Vitamin D test done.

irregular bowel movements
When Vitamin D toxicity occurs in the body, gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation may be seen. Excess of calcium carbonate in the body can also cause irregular bowel movements.

feeling lethargic
Hypercalcemia caused by excessive vitamin D intake can cause fatigue and lethargy. This fatigue and lack of energy can hinder your daily activities.

frequent urination
Taking excessive amounts of Vitamin D can also cause symptoms of frequent urination in a person. However, it is considered more a sign of diabetes and kidney related problems.

risk of cancer
According to experts, excess vitamin D in the body can increase the risk of cancer, cardiovascular problems and even bone fractures.
