Ayurveda University Uttarakhand 26 percent seats of BAMS reduced, proposal to increase PG seats rejected, 26 percent seats of BAMS reduced, proposal to increase PG seats rejected, Career News

NCISM has reduced 60 seats (26 percent) this year in all three campuses of Ayurveda University. There was a reduction of 28 seats in the main campus alone. Now admission will be allowed only on 165 seats out of 225. 15 percent seats are from All India quota. Here, the reasons for reduction in seats are said to be lack of faculty, lack of resources in 14 departments and low number of patients. Whereas, Ayurveda University is conducting UG-PG counseling these days.

Proposal to increase PG seats rejected

There are 68 AYUSH PG seats in Rishikul campus and 15 seats in Gurukul campus. The proposal to increase the seats here was earlier sent to NCISM, but after inspection it was also rejected citing lack of faculty and resources. Counseling has been started after recognition by NCISM. Here, according to Registrar Ramjisharan Sharma, the examinations are being affected due to low attendance of students. Other complaints have also come to notice. For this, biometric attendance is being made mandatory. Apart from this, NCISM has mentioned some points including lack of faculty and resources. Efforts are being made to fill these shortcomings.

Rule 75, attendance not even 40 percent

According to Dr. Radha Ballabh Sati, Director of the Main Campus, as per the rules, 75 percent attendance is required, but there are many students who do not even complete 40 percent attendance. Many students were able to maintain even ten percent attendance. Only by coming to classes, students will be able to learn something and become good doctors. Additional classes are being conducted in the interest of the students of both the batches.

Students don’t come to class, how will they become doctors?

Haradoon. A large number of AYUSH students are disappearing from classes in the main campus of Ayurveda University located at Harrawala as well as in the Rishikul and Gurukul campus of Haridwar. Recently, in the third year examination of batch-2020, only nine out of 71 students had complete attendance in the main campus. Therefore, only he was allowed to appear in the examination.
