Hyderabad, October 3 (IANS). Telangana Forest and Environment Minister Konda Surekha has withdrawn the statement given regarding the divorce of actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She has stated her motive for withdrawing the statement unconditionally on the social media platform.
After Samantha reacted strongly to her comments, Surekha clarified her motive on ‘X’. Said comments were not intended to hurt his sentiments, but to raise questions over a leader belittling women.
The Minister praised Samantha, saying that she not only admires the way she has moved forward in life with self-confidence but is also a role model for him.
“If you or your fans are hurt by my comments, I unconditionally withdraw my comments,” the minister wrote.
In fact, Minister Surekha had made serious allegations against Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao in front of the media. He also told KTR the reason for the divorce of star couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It was said that as a minister, he got the phones of many actresses tapped and then also blackmailed them. Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everyone is aware of this.
On this statement, KT Rama Rao had sent a defamation notice and threatened legal action if he did not apologize within 24 hours.
KTR posted the defamation notice on his social media handle on October 2. In which it was written that if his client did not apologize within 24 hours, he would reach the court.
It is written in the notice that the minister, in collaboration with some media houses, is making absurd allegations against him. It is written that Konda Surekha Adagolu is trying to tarnish the image of Samantha-Naga Chaitanya by taking their names and thus the minister is misusing her position.
At the same time, the actress also reacted to this comment of the minister. In her Instastory, she had appealed to respect another woman as a woman. He wrote, Konda Surekha..I hope you realize that as a minister your words matter a lot. I urge you to be responsible and respectful of someone’s privacy. My divorce is a private matter and I ask that you refrain from speculating about it.
Naga Chaitanya has also termed the minister’s statement as shameful. He wrote in a long social post that it is shameful to take names of celebs to remain in the headlines.
