Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan have worked in many films. The last film in which both of them worked together was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Sonam Kapoor was in the lead role with Salman in this film. The film got a very good response, but do you know that earlier Salman was hesitant in working with Sonam. He told Sooraj how he would work with Sonam. Why was Sonam finalized?
In an interview with Zee ETC, Sooraj said about the casting process of the film, ‘I wrote the script and thought about which actress would be right for Salman. I wanted a fresh pair. After watching Raanjana, I felt Sonam was perfect for this role. She can play the character of a princess who is independent.
Why was Salman not agreeing?
Sooraj further said, ‘I then showed Sonam’s photos to Salman and he said Sooraj, I will have to think about it. Months had passed, but Salman did not respond. Sooraj again asked Salman and he said that Sonam is not very tall? And she is younger than me too. I have seen them grow up, how can I romance with them. Sooraj then explained to her that she had appeared with him in the film Saawariya.
It took Salman again 5 months to say yes to this casting. He then messaged Sooraj, from today I will call Anil Kapoor Anil sir, you take him in the film.
