New Delhi. Today, amid voting for the assembly elections in Haryana, BJP has expelled Savitri Jindal from the party. Apart from Jindal, BJP has also shown the way out of the party to Tarun Jain, Amit Grover and Gautam Sardana. All these leaders including Savitri Jindal are contesting the elections as independent candidates after not getting ticket from BJP. Due to anti-party activities, all four leaders have been expelled from BJP for 6 years. Naveen Jindal, son of Savitri Jindal, who is contesting as an independent candidate from Hisar, is a BJP MP from Kurukshetra. Savitri Jindal is the richest woman in India. She is handling the responsibility of Jindal Group.
Savitri Jindal left Congress and joined BJP this year. Savitri wanted to contest elections from Hisar on BJP ticket but BJP did not give her the ticket and declared Kamal Gupta as its candidate. Angered by not getting the ticket, Savitri announced to contest the elections as an independent candidate. Let us tell you that Hisar assembly constituency is considered the stronghold of the Jindal family. Savitri Jindal tried her hand in politics after the death of her husband Om Prakash Jindal in a helicopter accident in 2005. She became MLA for the first time by winning the by-election on Hisar assembly seat. After this, in 2009, Savitri Jindal once again got a chance to become MLA from Hisar seat. In the 2014 assembly elections, Savitri contested from Hisar for the third time on Congress ticket but lost to BJP candidate Kamal Gupta.
