Like Jio, BSNL, Airtel, Zoom, a company famous for video conferencing and cloud collaboration with local numbers in the country, launched its new service ‘Zoom Phone’ in India on Thursday. Under this service, now local phone numbers will be supported in India also, which will provide a lot of convenience to the companies.
Will start from Maharashtra
Zoom said that Zoom Phone service will be started first from Maharashtra (Pune) telecom circle, after which it will also be made available in Karnataka (Bangalore), Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad), Mumbai and Delhi. All these are major technology hubs of India, where Zoom Phone service will be used on a large scale.
Beneficial for MNCs and domestic companies
According to Zoom, the Zoom Phone service is especially for multinational corporations (MNCs) and domestic companies who want to manage their hybrid workforce better. Additionally, Zoom Phone service provides global coverage in 50 countries and territories, which will help companies better coordinate with their teams.
License received from Department of Telecom
Zoom received Unified License with Access and Long Distance License in India from the Department of Telecom (DoT) in April 2023. The company then created a dedicated domestic infrastructure for Zoom Phone in India to comply with all regulatory requirements.
Local PBX Service in India
Zoom says that their Cloud PBX (Private Branch Exchange) service meets the requirements of India’s Unified Telecom License, which requires setting up a dedicated local interconnection infrastructure. The service is being offered with local phone numbers in India, bringing a reliable solution for companies both domestically and globally.
“Zoom’s Cloud PBX service meets India’s Unified Telecom License requirements, allowing us to provide our customers with a reliable and modern service,” said Velchamy Sankaralingam, president of product and engineering at Zoom.
