Arun Bali was born on December 23, 1942 in Lahore (now Pakistan), undivided India. He grew up here and after the partition of India, he started living in India. He belonged to a Punjabi Brahmin family. Arun Bali received his primary education at home and came to Delhi for higher education. His early life was spent with great difficulty. When he was 5 years old, his father passed away. He continued his studies by working as a salesman. Childhood was spent with extreme difficulties. Was fond of acting since childhood. He thought of making acting his career and got acting education from Delhi. Arun Bali has six brothers and sisters. In which these are five brothers and one sister. They got married in 1965. His wife’s name is Prakash Bali. They have three daughters- Itishree Bali, Stuti Bali, Pragati Bali and a son Anakush Bali.

Arun Bali first started his career as a singer and during that time he also kept taking acting classes. Later he emerged as a famous actor. His elder brother tried hard for Arun to become a film actor. His elder brother worked in film theatre. He supported Arun Bali a lot. Arun Bali used to do excellent acting and along with that his singing was also very good. Arun Bali entered the film world in the year 1951 with the first film of his life, ‘Saugandh’, this was his first film. Apart from this, he played an important role in the much talked about film ‘Three Idiots’. In this he was seen in the role of Shyamaldas Chanchal. He performed well in Hindi films as well as Punjabi films. Some of his Punjabi films like Punjab 1984, Vishakhi, Munde UK De are half Punjabi. Arun Bali also acted in Hindi films ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Badrinath’, ‘Shikari’, ‘Aankhen’, ‘Armaan’, ‘Khalnayak’ etc.

Arun Bali fell ill after celebrating his birthday on 23 December. Was admitted in the hospital since then. Gradually his illness increased. According to doctors, Arun Bali was suffering from neuromuscular disease. The disease went out of the control of the doctors and Arun Bali died on October 7, 2022 at 8 am in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
