CBI files charge sheet in Kolkata rape-murder case.
After almost two months of investigation, CBI has filed the first charge sheet in the court today in the case of rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical Hospital, Kolkata. The first chargesheet in the rape and murder case has been filed against main accused Sanjay Roy with technical evidence, eyewitness statements and forensic evidence. Let us tell you that Calcutta Police had arrested Sanjay Roy at 10 am on August 10 in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor.
Injury marks on Sanjay Roy’s body
Calcutta Police started investigating this case on 9 August and CBI took over the case on 14 August. During the medical examination, Sanjay Roy was found injured on his left cheek, left hand, finger and back of his thigh. Calcutta Police had recovered Sanjay Roy’s clothes and helmet. In the case, CBI had recorded statements of 45 eyewitnesses and conducted polygraphy tests of 10 people.
Accused Sanjay was seen in CCTV footage
Sanjay Roy’s presence at the crime scene was seen in the CCTV footage and his location was also ascertained from his CDR. The CBI had scanned the entire CCTV footage of the hospital and surrounding areas. In the footage, Sanjay Roy was seen entering the hospital and parking his bike at 3.42 am. He was seen on the ramp of the emergency building at 3.48 am. At the same time, at 4.03 pm, Sanjay Roy was seen in the corridor of the third floor, near the crime scene. After this, at 4.37 pm Sanjay Roy left the hospital on his bike.
When did the female doctor die?
The victim junior doctor was in a seminar with her four colleagues on the night of 8-9 August. He had ordered food from the food app. A colleague of the trainee doctor last saw the victim at 3 o’clock. According to the postmortem report, the time of death was 4 am. There were 7 injury marks on the victim’s body, there were injury marks on the neck, the cause of death was said to be strangulation and suffocation.
Suspicion of conspiracy to save the accused
Polygraphy test of accused Sanjay Roy was conducted. He had refused in the court for narco test and brain mapping. After this, CBI arrested Farmer Principal Sandeep Ghosh and Officer Incharge of Tala Police Station Abhijeet Mandal in the rape and murder case. The CBI had informed the court about the details of the phone calls of these two accused and said that there was a possibility of a criminal conspiracy to save the main accused.
Supplementary charge sheet will be filed soon
It has been said in the charge sheet that both the accused had got the body cremated in a hurry while the family had demanded a second postmortem. CBI had given all these things in its remand report. According to CBI sources, CBI investigation is continuing in this case and supplementary charge sheet will be filed in this case soon.
