New Delhi, October 9 (IANS). BJP has got absolute majority in Haryana Assembly elections. BJP has been successful in forming government in Haryana for the third consecutive time. While BJP is elated with this victory, Congress has blamed the defeat on EVMs.
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi spoke to IANS on Wednesday after the results of Haryana Assembly elections were announced. He said, the credit for BJP’s victory in Haryana goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. I appreciate his policy. The people here are with the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After the Haryana election defeat, Congress raised questions on the Election Commission and EVMs. Countering this, Jitan Ram Manjhi said, EVM was correct in Karnataka. A coalition government is being formed in Jammu and Kashmir, EVM is fine there also. Since Congress lost in Haryana, the blame is being placed on EVMs. It is in the nature of Congress to remain silent where they win and to look for excuses regarding EVMs where they lose.
This is why they blame both EVMs and the Election Commission. We believe that the Election Commission did the right thing.
Jitan Ram Manjhi said, Jats are considered very powerful in Haryana. Therefore, Congress gave him more seats in the hope of winning the elections on the basis of his influence. But, apart from the Jats, the Scheduled Caste and Tribal communities voted for the BJP and it achieved a historic victory for the third time.
On the question of former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav allegedly taking away a lot of belongings from the government residence, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said, if Tejashwi Yadav had been in control, he would have uprooted the wall also.
