After reaching Kolkata, as per his scheduled schedule, he went straight to R.G. Will do it and will meet Aniket Mahato, the seventh junior doctor sitting on hunger strike, in the hospital. Aniket Mahato was admitted to the ICU after midnight on Thursday after his health deteriorated significantly due to the continuous hunger strike.
Sources said Ashokan is also expected to visit the stage at Esplanade and meet six other junior doctors. They are continuing their fast unto death for seven consecutive days.
He also expressed hope to inform the media persons about the next action of IMA in this matter. Meanwhile, the working committee of the West Bengal branch of IMA has already given an ultimatum to the state government that it will be forced to launch a massive agitation if the state government does not take any positive steps to meet the demands of the junior doctors.
