Jodhpur, October 12 (IANS). Vijayadashami festival and weapon worship program was organized by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Jodhpur Metropolitan on Saturday at Polo Ground in Ratanada, Jodhpur. Major General Ranu Singh Rathore was the chief guest of this program, while National Co-Government Dr. Krishna Gopal addressed all the people present as the keynote speaker.
Many prominent politicians including Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Cabinet Minister Jogaram Patel, Pali MP PP Chaudhary, City MLA Atul Bhansali participated in the program in full uniform.
While talking to the media, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “Today is the day of Vijayadashami, which symbolizes the victory of truth over untruth and religion over unrighteousness. But for us, this day of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is even more important, because the Sangh’s The purpose of the establishment is to make the country virtuous, prosperous and glorious.”
He further said that the Sangh was established with the desire of bringing together Hindus and aspiring for the welfare of the entire society. He also said that RSS is entering its 100th year, and in this century all the volunteers of the organization should work towards the set goals. He resolved to further expand the work and strength of the organization in the coming year.
Shekhawat further said that this day of Vijayadashami is not only the day of burning of Ravana, but it is also a resolution day. He called upon all present to take a pledge to eliminate the evils, pollution and contamination in their lives and in their society.
Apart from this, Vijayadashami festival in Nagpur started with Shastra Pujan. On this occasion, Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat performed weapon worship. Former ISRO Chairman Dr. K. was present in the program. Radhakrishnan was present as the chief guest. At 6:15 am, volunteers from Nagpur participated in the traditional path march (route march). During the programme, the RSS Band performed and the RSS flag was also hoisted at the RSS office.
On this occasion, Mohan Bhagwat extended hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Vijayadashami and pledged to maintain the unity and integrity of the country.
Let us tell you, RSS was established in the year 1925 on the day of Vijayadashami, hence Vijayadashami is important for RSS in many ways. Dr. Balram Krishna Hedgewar founded RSS in 1925 on Vijayadashi. Today RSS branches are established in many countries around the world. In its journey of 99 years, RSS has been banned thrice.
