Actors like Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Tabu were present in Jodhpur for the shoot of the film. On the night of 27-28 September, a white gypsy was seen in Kankani village near Jodhpur. The villagers suspected that hunters were after black deer or chinkara. Within a short time, the sound of gunshot was heard, and people saw the gypsy running away.
The next day, news appeared in the newspapers that an eyewitness had seen Salman Khan in the gypsy. After this the matter escalated. The forest department investigated Salman Khan and his film crew, and found the remains of the black buck. After this, Bishnoi community lodged the first FIR against Salman Khan, and later four more cases were registered. Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali, and Tabu were made accused.
