Why is it difficult to take custody of Lawrence Bishnoi?
Due to the order issued by the Home Ministry last year under Section 268 (1), the authorities are facing hurdles in getting his custody from Sabarmati Jail. This section allows the State Government to direct that no person or class of persons shall be removed from prison in contravention of any order made under section 267 (power to require the attendance of prisoners). Interrogation can be done only by going to Sabarmati Jail
The first order under CrPC 268 was given on 30 August 2023. According to that order, no agency or state police can take the custody of Lawrence Bishnoi for one year. The reason behind this is that law and order may get disturbed while bringing Lawrence to and from jail. Bishnoi is now lodged in Sabarmati jail of Gujarat, the agency or police can interrogate him only by going to Sabarmati jail. According to sources, that order has been extended for one more year, hence there is a great possibility that now Mumbai Police will not be able to take the custody of Lawrence.
How does Lawrence Bishnoi operate the entire gang?

This was the voice of Dawood Ibrahim which used to make the whole of Mumbai tremble and now similar is the terror of Lawrence Bishnoi. Which was earlier limited only to Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan but now its terror is spreading in Mumbai also. Even though Dawood was based in Dubai, he used to operate Mumbai from there. Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati jail. However, sources say that Lawrence does not find any other place better and safer than jail, that is why he does not even apply for bail. Anyway, all his business and crimes are going on while sitting in jail.
The NIA report claims that Lawrence Bishnoi does not talk directly to any shooter. He conveys his message to the shooters through Goldie Brar, Sachin Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi. After Lawrence, his closest friend in the gang is Goldie Brar, followed by his cousin Sachin Bishnoi. There are many shooters in the Lawrence Gang who are involved in some crime together, but do not know each other. These people meet at a special place through someone and then complete the target. Their motive behind this is that even if a shooter is caught, he would not be able to tell much about the other one.
