Lucknow, October 16 (IANS). The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the dates of by-elections for 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Manoj Yadav had a special conversation with IANS regarding this.
Manoj Yadav told IANS that the Election Commission has announced by-elections for nine assembly seats of UP. Whereas, former BJP MLA and current candidate on the 10th seat has filed a petition in the High Court. Due to which the election dates for this seat have not been announced, why is BJP doing such stunts.
The SP leader further said that the seat is the responsibility of the Chief Minister of UP and he is continuously working hard on that seat after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and has held many meetings. Doing such a stunt there is showing the fear of BJP. BJP is finished in Milkipur. BJP is aware that SP and India alliance has a huge lead on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Taking a jibe at the Election Commission’s statement that EVMs are absolutely correct, the SP leader said that the Election Commission is sick and we pray for it. Samajwadi Party gave data along with 18,000 affidavits as to which caste and class votes were deducted. In such a situation, till now the Election Commission is working like deaf and dumb.
The SP leader further said that the topic of exit poll is not ours. The government should decide whether exit polls should be conducted or not. It is a big thing what effect the Election Commission’s words have on the government. Is the government ready to accept anything from the Election Commission?
Let us tell you that apart from the two election states of the country, by-elections have been announced for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats in 15 states. Voting is proposed to be held on 13 November for 47 assembly seats of the remaining 14 states, including 9 seats in UP.
