Ranchi, October 16 (IANS). ‘Jharkhand Party’ has announced to field its candidates on 20 assembly seats in the state. Party president Enos Ekka released the list of candidates for five seats at a press conference in Ranchi on Wednesday.
Columbus Hansda from Chaibasa seat of Kolhan division, Mahendra Jamuda from Manoharpur, Erin Ekka from Simdega, Anil Kumar Paswan from Kanke and Sandesh Ekka from Kolebira have been made candidates.
Interestingly, two of these five candidates, Erin Ekka and Sandesh Ekka, are the son and daughter of party chief Enos Ekka. Enos Ekka, who was previously a minister in the Jharkhand government, said that the party is in favor of alliance with like-minded parties that speak for the interests of Jharkhand.
He claimed that Jharkhand Party will be an important partner in the government formed after the elections in the state. Rajkumar Munda, elder son of former Jharkhand minister late Ramesh Singh Munda and brother of JMM MLA from Tamar seat Vikas Munda, along with his supporters joined the membership of Jharkhand Party in a meeting organized by the party at Carnival Banquet Hall in Ranchi on Wednesday. of.

In the by-election held on Tamar seat in 2009, Jharkhand Party candidate Raja Peter defeated the then Chief Minister Shibu Soren. Due to this defeat, Shibu Soren had to resign from the post of CM.
Jharkhand Party is one of the oldest parties in the state. It was formed in the year 1949. However, later this party broke into many parts. In the 1970s, NE Horo, a prominent leader of the Jharkhand movement, revived this party.
