What should be done during Karva Chauth fast-
1. On the day of Karva Chauth, fasting women should wake up in the morning before sunrise, take bath etc. and wear clean clothes.
2. Eating Sargi is one of the main rituals in Karva Chauth but there are some women who do not even eat Sargi before starting the fast, hence it is not a mandatory ritual for everyone. Sargi is given by the mother-in-law to the daughter-in-law, which contains dry fruits, fruits, saree and makeup items.
3. On the day of Karva Chauth, women should wear red, orange, green, pink, yellow, peach or maroon colored saree or suit.
4. Women should apply mehndi on their hands on the day of Karva Chauth.
5. The fast of Karva Chauth is considered dedicated to Karva Mata. On this day all the women come together and recite the Vrat Katha.
6. On the day of Karva Chauth, women should do 16 adornments.
7. On this day, satvik food should be prepared and consumed after seeing the moon.
8. Women observing fast must wait till the moon rises to break the fast.
What should not be done during Karva Chauth fast-
1. On the day of Karva Chauth, women should avoid wearing blue, black, grey, cream or white colored clothes.
2. One should stay away from Tamasic food on this day.
3. Arguments should be avoided on the day of Karva Chauth.
4. On the day of Karva Chauth, one should not eat or drink anything till the sighting of the moon.
5. One should not speak harsh words towards anyone on this day.
