Hezbollah’s tunnel found in Lebanon.
Tel Aviv: The Israeli army, which has been attacking the underground bases of Hamas in Gaza for the last one year, has now also reached the tunnels of the extremist group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Now the Israeli army is selectively targeting the tunnels built as safe houses for Hezbollah terrorists. Israeli fighters are searching the tunnels and targeting the terrorists hiding in them.
Let us tell you that when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year, more than 1200 Israelis were killed. To take revenge, Israel started attacking Hamas, which turned into a terrible war. Israeli forces retaliated in Gaza and war broke out. Now Israel has said that its main objective is to ensure that no such attack or infiltration takes place from its northern border. In such a situation, the Israeli Army, during a search operation in the dense forests of South Lebanon for two weeks, discovered a tunnel system in which a cache of weapons and rocket launchers were kept.
Attack on Hezbollah tunnels
Israeli soldiers are now continuously targeting Hezbollah’s tunnels. The IDF claims that these tunnels could pose a direct threat to nearby communities. Israel said its offensive included “limited, local and targeted ground strikes” aimed at destroying Hezbollah infrastructure. So that thousands of displaced Israelis can return to their homes. The fighting also left more than 1 million Lebanese homeless last month. Many people in southern Lebanon are supporters of Hezbollah. Many people have left their homes there a few months ago, but they still consider Hezbollah their protector.
The reason for this is that the Lebanese army does not have enough weapons to protect them from Israeli attacks and that is why the people are dependent on Hezbollah. Political analyst Eva J. Koulouriotis said this widespread support has allowed Hezbollah to establish its military infrastructure within the villages. (Reuters)
