New Delhi, October 19 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched ‘Karmayogi Saptah’, the National Teaching Week, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi.
While addressing the people present during this, PM Modi said that through Mission Karmayogi, our aim is to prepare such human resources, which will become the driving force of the development of our country. Expressing satisfaction over the progress, the Prime Minister said that if we continue to work with the same passion, no one can stop the country from moving forward. The new learnings and experiences gained during the National Learning Week will strengthen and help us in improving our practices, thereby helping us achieve our goal of a developed India by 2047.
The Prime Minister discussed the steps taken in the last ten years to change the mindset of the government, the impact of which is being felt by the people today. He said that this has been possible due to the efforts of the people working in the government and the impact of steps like Mission Karmayogi. The Prime Minister emphasized that while the world sees Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an opportunity, for India it presents both a challenge and an opportunity. He talked about two AIs, one is Artificial Intelligence and the other is Aspirational India. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of striking a balance between the two and said that if we successfully use Artificial Intelligence to drive progress for an Aspirational India, it can lead to transformational changes.
PM Modi said that due to the digital revolution and the influence of social media, information equality has become a norm. With AI, information processing is also becoming equally easy, thereby keeping citizens informed and empowering them to keep an eye on all the activities of the government. Therefore, civil servants need to keep themselves up to date with the latest technological developments to meet the rising standards, in which Mission Karmayogi can prove helpful.
He stressed the need to follow innovative thinking and citizen-centric approach and mentioned taking help from startups, research agencies and youth to derive new ideas. PM Modi urged the departments to create a system of feedback mechanism. The Prime Minister praised the iGOT platform and said that more than 40 lakh government employees are registered on this platform. There are more than 1400 courses available and officers have received more than 1.5 crore certifications in various courses.
The Prime Minister said that civil services training institutes have been victims of one-stop practice. We have tried to increase partnership and cooperation between them. He urged the training institutions to establish proper channels of communication, learn from each other, discuss and adopt global best practices and develop a holistic government approach.

Let us tell you that Mission Karmayogi was launched in September 2020, envisioning a future-ready civil service rooted in the Indian ethos with a global perspective. The National Learning Week (NLW) will provide fresh impetus towards personal and organizational capacity development for civil servants, thereby conveying the message of “One Government” and aligning all with the national goals and promoting lifelong learning.
