In view of the increasing pollution caused by loud loudspeakers during festivals, Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered the Collector and Magistrate to submit an affidavit to control it.

Chhattisgarh High Court has asked the District Collector and Magistrate to submit personal affidavit regarding noise pollution. This order comes after the assurance given by the state government to the High Court, in which the state had said that it will effectively curb noise pollution and take strict action against it. A division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Bibhu Dutt expressed concern not only about noise pollution but also about the problems caused by laser and beam lights.
A hearing was going on in the Chhattisgarh High Court regarding the control of noise pollution. In this, Advocate General Praful N Bharat along with Deputy Advocate General Shashank Thakur were replying on behalf of the state. Both of these people were presenting the government’s side on the applications submitted regarding noise pollution.
The Advocate General was responding to concerns raised by the people. These concerns include the state’s inability to prevent noise pollution during festivals and the use of loud DJ sounds tied to vehicles, which cause a lot of pollution. On this the AG said that the state has taken action against those who spread such pollution. Also, the court has been assured to further control such DJs and sounds which cause noise pollution.
The negative effects of loud music systems played by DJs and high beam laser lights on people have also been mentioned. On this, the Advocate General said that using such laser light with DJ is already banned in Chhattisgarh. Besides, the state has also made a provision to impose fine on those who violate it. Taking strict action against those who repeatedly violate the rules, a provision has been made to seize their vehicle and sound system.
