They published an article on us. After this article, the team of Dangal film director Nitish Tiwari contacted us. After this the director himself came to us and talked to us. All this incident happened in the year 2010. At that time the directors wanted to make a short film on us. First of all Nitish Tiwari narrated us the script of the film. At that time nothing like casting etc. of the film was done. But this was a very emotional moment for my family. After this the film was made and when I saw the film my eyes filled with tears. My childhood was completely engraved in it.
Got only Rs 1 crore in return for the story
Babita Phogat also spoke openly about the rights of the story. In which Babita Phogat told that ‘we were given only Rs 1 crore. Whereas the film had earned around Rs 2 thousand crores. We did not get even 1 percent of the total earnings of the film. The film had broken all the figures in terms of earnings. The film was seen more in foreign countries than in India. According to IMDb, Dangal has become the highest collecting film in Bollywood history even today with earnings of Rs 1924 crore. The film did good business in India as well as China. This film was very much liked in China.
