New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday during his first visit to Delhi after assuming office last week. Let us inform that a proposal passed by the state cabinet is expected to be submitted by the Chief Minister. In this, the Center has been urged to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. In the recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah’s party National Conference has formed its government by securing 42 out of 90 assembly seats. The party had an alliance with Congress in the elections.

Had met Shah on Friday

The new government of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Omar Abdullah has passed a resolution in its first cabinet meeting urging the Central Government to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. Later, this proposal was approved by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. After Cabinet approval, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been given the authority to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government to lobby for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Let us inform you that Omar Abdullah had met Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday and discussed issues related to the state.

Had a 30 minute meeting with Shah

Omar Abdullah held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah for about 30 minutes. The Jammu and Kashmir CM later said that it was a courtesy call, during which he apprised Shah of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and also discussed the issue of restoration of statehood. Abdullah had reached Delhi on Wednesday after the major terrorist attack in Gangangir area of ​​Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago. 7 people including a doctor were killed in the terrorist attack in Ganderbal district. Let us tell you that after Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory in the year 2019, the police force comes under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Ministry.
