सरकार भारत की स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रणाली को मजबूत करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध: जेपी नड्डा

New Delhi, October 25 (IANS). Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda has said that the Central Government is committed to strengthening India’s healthcare system as well as making it accessible to all.

Nadda had arrived in the national capital on Friday to address the 53rd foundation day and convocation ceremony of the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), the medical institute of Delhi University.

The Union Health Minister said that healthcare professionals make important contributions to the society. He urged the graduating students to approach their work with compassion, honesty and dedication.

“The government is committed to strengthening India’s healthcare system and ensuring that medical services are accessible to all,” Nadda said. Speaking to the students he said, “Your efforts should be focused on shaping our national vision of ‘Developed India’.”

Highlighting the government’s commitment to promote the healthcare sector, he said the government spends Rs 30-35 lakh for each MBBS student.

Let us tell you that Nadda reiterated the changes made in the National Health Policy by the Central Government in 2017. He said that due to these reforms there has been a change in health care for the better. He mentioned the recent achievements in the healthcare sector. Which includes 22 AIIMS, establishment of new medical and nursing colleges, more than 100 percent increase in MBBS and MD seats, etc.

Further, the minister said that the government is going to fulfill the promise of adding 75,000 medical seats in the next five years.

Let us tell you, in his address to the nation on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to create 75,000 more medical seats in the country in the next five years, which are currently more than one lakh. This will make the healthcare system more effective and help reduce foreign dependence on medical education.
