J. D. Rymbai (English: J. Dringwell Rymbai, born October 26, 1934) was an Indian National Congress politician and the ninth Chief Minister of Meghalaya. He was the Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 15 June 2006 to 10 March 2007.
Born in a poor family, J. D. Rambai had to discontinue his studies during his graduation. Later he became an assistant teacher in a government school. After some time he obtained his bachelor’s degree and then did B.Ed. After which he became the headmaster of a government school. J. D.Rambai married to Pegimon Pathav. He has three daughters and two sons. On January 4, 2008, J. D. Ramabai resigned from the Assembly and the Indian National Congress.
