A shameful incident has come to light in Gujarat. Accusing her of having illicit relations, a woman was not only beaten severely but her hair was also chopped off. The incident occurred when the woman was going home with her daughter on a two-wheeler.
In Gujarat’s Tapi district, some people beat up a woman badly and also cut her hair over alleged illicit relationship. The woman is a Taluka Panchayat member. Police have arrested one person in this case. Urmila Gamit of Songadh taluka panchayat was attacked and beaten with hockey sticks by a woman and three men on Saturday evening, an official said on Sunday. Songadh police station official said the attackers also cut his hair.
The police officer said the woman was targeted in a public place when she was going home on a two-wheeler with her daughter. One of the attackers has been identified as Sobhana Gambit. She has accused Urmila of having illicit relations with her husband.
Police said the people accompanying Shobhana, including her son, hit Urmila with hockey sticks. Due to this his left hand was broken and he suffered injuries to his waist and head. They also snatched his gold pendant and ran away. Urmila was taken to the local hospital. The officer said that on his complaint the police have registered a case and arrested one of the accused. Other accused are being searched.
