New Delhi, October 27 (IANS). Congress leader Rashid Alvi spoke to IANS on Sunday. He expressed concern over the stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminal and increasing pollution in Delhi.
On passengers getting injured in the stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminal station, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, there is jungle raj in Mumbai. Recently a leader was shot dead in public and the government has been watching the show. Now a stampede broke out at the railway station. This is the responsibility not only of the Maharashtra Government, but also of the Government of India. Because, there is a double engine government at the Center and in Maharashtra. Their leaders always talk about double engine government. The result will be that people will be killed. A common man will try to go to his home and get injured at the railway station. The responsibility of this incident lies as much with the Railways as it does with the state and central governments.
On pollution in Delhi, the Congress leader said, it seems that someone has poisoned the air. The people of Delhi are living a very difficult life. Diseases will increase. This is a difficult time for the elderly with children. I have already said that Aam Aadmi Party and the Central Government are responsible for the pollution in Delhi. As pollution increases in Delhi, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party only engage in rhetoric against each other. But, both the governments do not work on how to get rid of pollution. The Center and Delhi government are responsible for pollution in Delhi.
On the increase in incidents of stubble burning in Punjab, the Congress leader said, stubble remains a big issue. Unless the government controls this, no results will be achieved. Stubble is also being burnt in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. There is BJP government in Haryana, UP and Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. Both the governments are not concerned about the people.
