Rajendra Yadav (English: Rajendra Yadav, born: 28 August 1929 – death: 28 October 2013) was the editor of the famous Hindi literary magazine Hans and a popular novelist. Rajendra Yadav did M.A. from Agra University in 1951. Passed the (Hindi) examination with first division and first position. Even at a time when Hindi literary magazines were facing untimely death, the continuous publication of Hans was possible only because of Rajendra Yadav. He had equal command over all the genres of literature including novel, story, poetry and criticism.
25 years of Hindi magazine ‘Hans’ and ‘The Great Showman’ of Hindi literature Rajendra Yadav If the names of the most prestigious magazines of Hindi literary world are taken in India today, then Hans is at the top among them and if the names of eminent scholars are taken then Rajendra Yadav’s name comes first. When people were forgetting the legacy and values of literary emperor Premchand, Rajendra Yadav gave a new direction to literary values by starting the re-publication of the magazine ‘Hans’ published by Premchand in 1930. This magazine, which has completed its 25 years, contains within itself all the genres of stories, poems, articles, memoirs, reviews, short stories, ghazals etc. with excellence. Rajendra Yadav’s editorial presented under “Meri-Teri Uski Baat” always seems to create a new discussion. This is the only magazine on whose editorial all the reputed newspapers and magazines are seen debating in some way or the other.
Under the context of contemporary creation, discussion on all the popular books and magazines by Bharat Bhardwaj, under Mukhtsar – literary news, to baat bolegi, the words of executive editor Sanjeev give edge to the magazine. In literature, columns like Ananvitraat and Those Who Spoiled Me provide even more popularity to the magazine. Hans editor Rajendra Yadav, who started writing with poetry, boldly attacked feudal values and the credit for making Dalit and women’s issues the main topic of discussion in the Hindi literary world also goes to his credit. Certainly this element also emerges in Hans Patrika. Even today, being published in ‘Hans’ magazine is the heartfelt desire of great writers. Who knows how many talents have been recognized, nurtured and made stars by this magazine, that is why its editor Rajendra Yadav is called ‘The Great Show Man’ of Hindi literature. Certainly, the contribution of Hans and its extraordinary editor Rajendra Yadav in the literary field is unmatched.[1]
