Washington: America has once again given a big blow to Russia. About 400 companies helping Russia have been banned in Ukraine. On Wednesday, America banned 398 companies from about 15 countries including Russia and China. All of them are accused of providing products and services to help Russia’s war efforts against Ukraine. This joint action by the US Treasury and State Departments is aimed at punishing ‘third party countries’ that are accused of providing material aid to Russia or assisting Russia in evading Western sanctions imposed after the invasion of Ukraine. There is an allegation.

Let us tell you that Russia launched the first attack on Ukraine in February 2022, after which many Western countries led by America have imposed various economic sanctions on Russia. The names of some Indian companies are also in the category of ban. The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on 398 companies related to countries indirectly supporting Russia. Of these, 274 companies are accused of providing advanced technology to Russia. Russia-based defense and manufacturing firms are also among the companies under the sanctions.

America wants to reduce Russia’s power

America wants to reduce Russia’s power with this step. These companies produce or refine products associated with weapons used against Ukraine. Apart from this, the US State Department has also imposed diplomatic sanctions on several senior officials of the Russian Defense Ministry and a group of defense companies and China-based companies. These companies are involved in the export of dual-use defense products. Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adamo said the United States and its allies are committed to deterring those trying to undermine Russia’s war machine and aiding its efforts to circumvent Western sanctions and export controls.
