This year the festival of Diwali is being celebrated on 31st October, so today we are telling you the correct method of lighting lamps through this article, so let us know.

Exact date of Diwali-
According to the Panchang, the Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is starting from 4:03 PM on 31st October and the Amavasya Tithi on 1st November will end at 5:38 PM and sunset will happen at 5:46 PM. The tradition of celebrating Diwali and worshiping takes place only at night. In such a situation, Amavasya is not being celebrated on 1st November but on 31st October and Diwali will also be celebrated on the same day.

The correct way to light a lamp on Diwali night-
Let us tell you that before lighting the lamp on Diwali night, clean the place of worship, after that wash the lamp with clean water and let it dry. Then light the wick and pour ghee or oil into the lamp. Lighting a ghee lamp is very auspicious. The lamp should always be lit in the east or north direction. Chant Om or other mantras while lighting the lamp. You can keep the number of lamps as per your wish but it is auspicious to light at least 5, 7, 9, 21, 51 and 108 lamps. The lamp should be lit in the evening. This brings positivity and Goddess Lakshmi also enters the house.
