prisoner escaping with chain
A shocking case has come to light from Mohana police station area of Gajapati district of Odisha. Here a criminal escaped from police custody. Despite the criminal having iron chains tied on his legs, he escaped from the clutches of the police. The surprising thing is that while the criminal was running away, the police team was in a hotel room breathing air from the AC.
Actually, on October 27, Jual Sabar, a resident of Gajapati district, was arrested by Akola Police of Maharashtra on charges of smuggling of ganja. After arresting Juul and presenting him before the magistrate, Akola police took him on remand for further investigation and reached Mohana area of Gajapati district.
Policemen were eating AC air
Without informing the local police, Akola police reached a hotel in Mohana area at 2 o’clock in the night. When the police team was busy in its daily routine in the morning, prisoner Jual Sabar escaped from the spot. While Jual was absconding, the remaining members of the police team were reportedly in another room inhaling air from the AC. Jual has chains on his legs and is still away from the clutches of the police. Akola Police and Mohana Police are now busy searching for the prisoner and every nook and corner of the area is being searched.
Juel was arrested on 27 October
Mohana police has registered a complaint in this matter. Inspector Basant Sethi, in-charge of Mohana police station, said, “On October 27, Akola police had arrested Juel Sabar on charges of smuggling of ganja. After presenting Juel in the Additional Sessions Court, Akola police took him on remand for further investigation. Since they were late in reaching the area on the night of 2nd and 3rd, the police team stayed in the same room at Mohana. When the police team members were not there, he opened the door of the room and ran away as soon as Akola police informed us about the incident. They are searching for the absconding criminal and raiding his hideouts.”
However, section 226 of BNS has been imposed on the prisoner and the police is busy searching for him.
