Mandi BJP criticizes Chief Minister for ‘unfulfilled promises’

Mandi News Desk. In a meeting held today at the BJP office in Mandi district, state leaders strongly criticized Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu for allegedly failing to fulfill key promises made to the people. BJP state president Rajeev Bindal accused the Chief Minister of ignoring the 10 promises made to the public. During the meeting, which was attended by key party leaders like BJP national vice president Rekha Verma and leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Bindal discussed several issues in detail. He claimed that the Sukhu Singh government has closed around 1,500 public institutions including health and education and has failed to create promised employment opportunities, reportedly providing 1.5 lakh employment opportunities instead of 2 lakh posts. Bindal criticized the state government for imposing increased taxes, including Rs 7 charge on diesel and a 500 per cent increase in stamp duty, which he said has burdened the public. He also alleged that the Chief Minister has given preference to friends and associates with high positions and contracts while stalling essential development projects amid rising state debt. Emphasizing that the ongoing development initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission are mainly programs funded by the Central Government, he stressed that the State Government has made very little progress on its own. Bindal said, “BJP is currently in the midst of an organizational fest aimed at increasing party membership and strengthening local committees. The party has garnered over 14 lakh online members across the state. The next phases of this initiative include 5 This includes finalizing the active membership by November and forming new booth committees from November 11 to 30.” The meeting concluded with a call for greater accountability from the state government.
