Health News Desk: Often some people complain that their sleep gets interrupted at midnight. After which they have a lot of difficulty in getting deep sleep again. Not getting good sleep not only reduces a person’s energy level but also keeps his mood bad. Disruption of sleep between 3 to 5 in the night can cause problems for anyone. If this happens to you too, then you must know about the hidden reason behind it. Let us know what are the reasons for breaking sleep at midnight.

Low sugar level and increase in hormones
According to Dave Asprey, who works on topics like good health and sleep, fluctuations in sugar levels may be responsible for waking up at 3-5 in the morning. Asprey says a rapid drop in blood sugar can cause stress chemicals, such as adrenaline and cortisol, to be released into the body, which have a stimulant effect. Although these hormones help control blood sugar levels by releasing glucose from the liver and muscles, they also interfere with sleep.

Cortisol level increases due to stress
On the other hand, the increased level of cortisol in the body due to stress is also considered to be a reason for waking up in the middle of the night. Cortisol is known as a stress hormone. Cortisol performs many functions like maintaining the body’s energy level and also controlling the sleep-wake cycle. But a state of increased alertness due to increased cortisol levels in the body can cause you to wake up suddenly, especially between 3 and 5 in the morning.

Advice-
Asprey recommends eating a light snack before bed to ensure good, deep sleep. Which includes honey, MCT oil (coconut oil) and collagen. If you want, you can take these three together. These are all slow-burning sources of energy that can help reduce drops in blood sugar.
