New Delhi. Karnataka High Court has given big relief to BJP National President JP Nadda. The High Court has canceled the FIR registered against Nadda. The FIR was filed after Nadda’s speech while addressing a rally during the assembly elections in Karnataka on April 19, 2023. Complainant election officer Laxman Nandi had alleged that Nadda had told voters that if they did not vote for BJP, they would be deprived of all the relief schemes provided by the central government.

According to the news of Bar and Bench, Justice M. Nagaprasanna of Karnataka High Court, while quashing the FIR, said that no crime is made out in the case. Earlier, BJP President JP Nadda’s lawyer had argued in the court that if the court investigates the alleged comments made by Nadda at that election rally in Haveri district, it will come to light that sections 171C (undue influence in elections) and No offense under section 171F (punishment for undue influence in elections) is made out against them.
Nadda’s lawyer argued that he had urged the people of Karnataka to vote only for his party. Didn’t threaten anyone. Then there is no question of any undue influence in this. This case has no basis and hence it should be quashed. After hearing these comments of the lawyer, Justice Nagaprasanna also admitted that there was nothing in Nadda’s speech that warranted a case against him, after which the court canceled the FIR. Let us tell you that during the assembly election campaign in Karnataka, another FIR was registered against JP Nadda but that too was rejected by the High Court.
