New Delhi. Activists of Hindu and Sikh organizations on Sunday demonstrated strongly in front of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi in protest against the attack by Khalistan supporters on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. The protesters were marching towards the Canadian High Commission and during this they tried to demolish the police barricades. The protesters raised slogans like “Hindus and Sikhs are one” and “India will not tolerate insult to its temples”. Security was increased during the demonstration. Delhi Police deployed a large number of police personnel outside the Canadian Mission in Chanakyapuri and set up barricades at several levels.

Outrage after Brampton temple attack
Khalistan supporters vandalized and attacked devotees during a consular camp outside the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada on November 4, sparking outrage in the Indian community. Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the attack, calling it a “deliberate attack” and a “cowardly attempt to intimidate Indian diplomats”. In Brampton and Mississauga, people of the Indian community took to the streets in large numbers and protested.

Khalistani supporters arrested, police officer suspended
Canadian police have arrested four Khalistan supporters linked to the violent incident. This includes the name of Inderjit Gosal, who is considered to be the key operative of the ‘Sikhs for Justice’ (SFJ) organization. Gosal has been charged with assault with a weapon. Apart from this, a Canadian police officer Harinder Sohi has also been suspended for raising anti-India slogans at a pro-Khalistan rally in Mississauga.
