Incidents of digital arrest are coming to light one after the other from different parts of the country. Cyber criminals are cheating people of crores of rupees in this way. The latest case has come from the country’s capital Delhi. Here in Rohini area, criminals kept a retired engineer under digital arrest for 8 hours. Cyber criminals have defrauded him of Rs 10 crore.
What did the police tell?
Police have digitally arrested a retired engineer and given information about the fraud of Rs 10 crore. According to the police, the victim is a retired engineer and lives with his wife in Sector 10 area of Rohini. Based on the complaint of the retired engineer, the police have registered an FIR in the cyber cell.
Freeze Rs 60 lakh
Delhi Police has told that they have succeeded in freezing Rs 60 lakh in the case of digital arrest i.e. online intimidation for extortion of money in Rohini. A police officer has expressed apprehension that this fraud was perpetrated by callers from abroad. But the thugs’ associates in India have helped them gather information about the targets.

Actually, a new method has been invented by cyber criminals to cheat people which is called digital arrest. , In this case, fraudsters contact you and claim to be officials of a legal agency. Then they scare people by making audio or video calls and hold them digitally hostage in their homes.
