US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that former Democratic Party member Tulsi Gabbard will serve as ‘Director of National Intelligence’ (DNI). Gabbard has been a four-time MP and was also a candidate for the presidential election in 2020.
Gabbard has experience of three deployments to conflict-torn areas of West Asia and Africa. She had recently left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party.
“I am pleased to announce that former Congressman Lieutenant Colonel Tulsi Gabbard will serve as DNI,” Trump announced. For more than two decades, Basil has fought for the freedom of our country and all Americans.”
“As a former Democratic presidential candidate, she enjoys widespread support in both parties, but now she is a key member of the Republican Party…,” he said.
