Under the government’s housing scheme, benefits are given to those families who do not have a permanent house. And who was not already availing the benefits of any housing scheme run by the Central Government or the State Government.
Under this scheme, only those people can apply whose family members do not have any government job. Along with this, the annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 2 lakh. People whose name is in the 2011 census list can avail the benefits of this scheme.
The Piya Awas Yojana run by the Government of India is run in two formats, one rural and the other urban. Under the Rural Housing Scheme, a 25 square meter house is built by the government, for which the beneficiaries are given Rs 1,20,000 by the government. Whereas if it is a hilly area then the amount is increased by Rs 10,000 and the villagers living in the hilly area are given Rs 1,30,000 by the government.
If we talk about urban housing scheme. So to build a permanent house, financial assistance of Rs 1,50,000 is given by the government. Under this, permanent houses are built in urban areas. This money is sent by the government to the beneficiaries in different installments.
