Rae Bareli, Amrit Vichar. Crowds of devotees gathered at the Ganga ghats from early morning for the Kartik Purnima bath. Lakhs of devotees took bath at the ghats of Dalmau, Unchahar and Sareni. Wish for happiness and prosperity by donating to the priests. Maximum crowd was seen at Dalmau’s Rani Shivala, Main Ghat, Sadak Ghat, VIP Ghat, Kachcha Ghat, Bada Math Ghat etc. Devotees also gathered in Gokna Ghat of Unchahar, Gegaso of Sareni and Ralpur. A wonderful confluence of devotion, faith and joy was seen on the banks of Ganga. Lakhs of people have taken bath and worshiped in Brahma Muhurta.
At Gokna Ganga Ghat, devotees like women, children etc. from different districts and far flung areas took a dip of faith in Ganga, the giver of salvation. Devotees earned merit by performing various religious rituals including donations to the poor and destitute. Apart from Gokna Ghat of the area, the process of bathing had started from the night itself at Gola Ghat, Badshahpur Ghat and the entire Tir Ganga Ghat.
The shopkeepers who came to the fair were disappointed due to lack of crowd in the beginning on Thursday evening, but as the night approached, when the crowd from Amethi, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh and remote areas of the district started coming, the faces of the shopkeepers lit up. The process of bathing which started at 2 o’clock in the night is continuing.
