New Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested Chinese national Fang Chen Jin in a major case related to cyber crime and money laundering. This arrest took place from Safdarjung Enclave of Delhi. Police have received information about 17 other cases against the accused, in which people were cheated in the name of stock market training and investment.
Fraud through WhatsApp and social media
According to the police, the accused used to use WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms to lure people into investing in the stock market and offering training sessions. The complainants said that after taking money from them the accused ended the contact.

This is how the fraud was revealed
Delhi Police had received a complaint in which the victim had talked about fraud in the name of investing in the stock market. During the investigation, the police tracked the mobile number of the accused. Police traced the location of the accused through IMEI number. Police found out that the defrauded amount was being transferred to a bank account opened in the name of Mahalakshmi Traders. The mobile number linked to the bank account led the police to Fang Chen Jin.

Big network of cyber crime and money laundering
Investigation revealed that the accused, living in Delhi, was involved in many cases related to cyber crime and money laundering. Its links were also found with cases related to Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. 17 more similar complaints are registered on the cyber portal. According to the police, all these cases are related to Fin Care Bank account. The total amount of fraud is being estimated to be around Rs 100 crore. Delhi Police is now busy searching for other people related to this case. The interrogation of the accused is ongoing, and it is being ascertained who else is involved in this network of fraud.
