Goa Police has arrested a person from Dabolim Airport. He has been accused of molesting a female passenger inside the flight. The incident happened on Tuesday. An Air India flight took off for Goa at 11 am on Tuesday. He was to land at Panaji airport at 1:20 pm. But inside this flight, a passenger molested a female passenger during the journey. The female passenger lodged a report at the police station. Then the accused was arrested. Police said that the accused is a resident of Panipat, Haryana. His name is Jitendra Jangian.
According to the information, a 28-year-old woman resident of Janakpuri, Delhi had registered a case against the accused at Panaji Police Station on Tuesday. In the complaint, the woman said- During the journey, a passenger named Jeetendra was sitting near my seat. In the flight, when I wanted to sleep covered with a blanket, Jeetendra started touching me in a dirty manner. At first I thought that I might have accidentally touched him. But later I came to know that he was doing this deliberately.
‘Started misbehaving’
According to the victim- I still ignored him and sat for a while. But the limit was reached when he removed my blanket. He started trying to molest me. When I protested against this, he started talking rudely to me.
Under which sections the case is registered
Based on the woman’s complaint, Panaji police searched for the accused. Then he was traced and arrested in Goa. Police said the accused has been booked under sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 79 (acts intended to insult the dignity of a woman, including verbal abuse, inappropriate gestures or objects and invasion of privacy) of the Indian Judicial Code. The case has been registered under the Accused Jitendra’s age is 23 years. He will be presented in the court on Wednesday.
