Kalbe Sadiq (English: Kalbe Sadiq, born- January 1, 1936, Lucknow; died- November 24, 2020, Lucknow) was the Vice Chairman of ‘All India Muslim Personal Law Board’ and Shia religious leader in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Kalbe Sadiq, renowned in the country and abroad, was always active in the cause of education and especially the education of girls and poor children. He was also the patron of Unity College and Era Medical College. He has been posthumously awarded ‘Padma Bhushan’ (2021) by the Government of India.
Education
Kalbe Sadiq graduated from Lucknow University. After this he obtained higher education from Aligarh Muslim University. He is a Ph.D. There were also holders.
liberal image
The whole world knows Dr. Kalbe Sadiq as a Shia religious guru giving the message of mutual brotherhood and love. He promoted education in everything. He used to go to foreign countries to attend Majlis and give the message of love. He was recognized worldwide for his liberal image. He continued fighting throughout his life to eliminate conservative traditions from Muslim society. He not only opposed orthodoxy, but also made many efforts to advance education.[1]
Had to face opposition from society
There was opposition to the reforms of Maulana Kalbe Sadiq in the society. It is said that he did not announce Eid after seeing the moon, rather he used to announce the dates of Eid and Bakrid at the beginning of Ramzan. There was a lot of opposition to his steps.
