Anil Dhawan belongs to a film family. Anil is the elder brother of Bollywood director David Dhawan and thus is the paternal uncle of Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan. During an interview, when Anil was asked why he does not work with his director brother David Dhawan, Anil said, ‘I cannot always work with my brother. Every film takes money and hard work of the makers. In such a situation, it is not right to do a film with him just because he is the director’s brother, because I cannot take the place of Shakti Kapoor or Kader Khan in any film. I have done films like ‘Hero No. 1’ and ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’ with David.
