Bumrah has again achieved the number one position in the latest Test rankings released by ICC. Bumrah got this success due to his brilliant bowling during the Perth Test match. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has also got a big advantage by scoring a century in the Perth Test match and now he has reached second place in the ranking of batsmen.
Benefit from taking eight wickets in Perth Test match
During the Perth Test match, India won by defeating Australia by a huge margin. With this, India had achieved a 1-0 lead in the series. The noteworthy thing is that in the absence of India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma, it was Bumrah who captained India during the Perth Test match. Bumrah played a big role in helping India win during the Perth Test match.
After Team India was out for 150 runs, India took a crucial lead of 46 runs due to the brilliant bowling of Bumrah. Yashasvi Jaiswal reached second place
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played an important role in helping India win by scoring a brilliant century during the Perth Test match, has also jumped in the rankings. Yashasvi has gained two places and has now reached second position. At present, Joe Root of England remains at number one position. Yashasvi has reached 825 points with career best rating.
During the quarter test match against Australia, Yashasvi Jaiswal had scored a brilliant 161 runs in the second innings. However, during the first innings, Australia gave a big blow to India by dismissing him for zero. During India’s second innings, Yashasvi made a partnership of 201 runs with KL Rahul for the first wicket, due to which Australia went on the back foot. Yashasvi Jaiswal has batted brilliantly in test matches this year. In 12 test matches, he has scored 1280 runs at an average of 58.18. During this period, he has also scored three centuries and seven half-centuries.
Kohli jumped nine places
During the Perth Test match, former Team India captain and star batsman Virat Kohli also played an unbeaten century. Although Kohli’s performance this year has not been very good, but thanks to his century, Kohli has jumped nine places to reach 13th position. Kohli had left behind Australian legend Don Bradman by scoring an unbeaten 100 runs during the first Test match. This was the 30th century of his career. Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne is not in form at the moment and that is why he has reached 14th position among the batsmen.
