Maharashtra: Maharashtra is going to get a new Chief Minister soon. It is believed that a meeting of the BJP legislative party is going to be held in Mumbai on Sunday i.e. December 1 and in this meeting the leader of the legislative party will be elected and he will be the next Chief Minister of the state. If sources are to be believed, the name that is being said to be leading in the race for Chief Minister is that of Devendra Fadnavis and he is likely to be made the Chief Minister. Two observers may be appointed today by the BJP’s central high command for the legislature party meeting. BJP can also give a big surprise by electing Devendra Fadnavis as the leader of the legislative party in the legislative party meeting.
BJP wants its own CM
BJP wants to make its own Chief Minister in Maharashtra. If sources are to be believed, BJP has single-handedly won 132 seats. In such a situation, she will not be ready under any circumstances to give the post of CM to the ally party. BJP has only 13 seats less than the majority. At the same time, the allies will also have to understand well that they should not insist for the post of CM, otherwise it may create a situation of tension between BJP and them.
Devendra Fadnavis is at the forefront
BJP knows very well that Devendra Fadnavis is the most accurate face of the party in Maharashtra. In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the party contested the elections with Fadnavis in the forefront. It was Fadnavis who held the maximum number of rallies and public meetings on behalf of BJP in the assembly elections. Now in such a situation, it will not be easy for BJP to defeat Fadnavis. Fadnavis is the only leader under whose leadership BJP has won more than 100 seats in three consecutive assembly elections in Maharashtra. BJP has won more than 100 seats in the assemblies of 2014, 2019 and 2024. In such a situation, ignoring Fadnavis and making someone else the CM would be a very difficult task for the party.
Shidas cannot put more pressure on BJP
The Mahayuti meeting will take place only after the BJP legislature party meeting. It is possible to formally announce the name of the Chief Minister of Mahayuti in this meeting. At the same time, the process of formation of the grand coalition government has slowed down due to the departure of caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to his village Satara. If sources are to be believed, Eknath Shinde cannot put too much pressure on BJP. They also know very well that if they put more pressure and in such a situation, BJP along with Ajit Pawar sidelines them, then government can be formed in the state. Because BJP has 132 MLAs and it also has the support of one independent, while 41 MLAs of Ajit Pawar’s NCP are also standing strongly with BJP. If seen this way, BJP has a total of 174 MLAs, which is much more than the majority.
