Bhakti Sharma (English: Bhakti Sharma, born November 30, 1989, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian swimmer. He has set a world record by swimming 1.4 miles in the Antarctic Ocean in just 52 minutes. The temperature at the time she was swimming was 1 degree Celsius. By doing this well, she became the youngest swimmer in the world. Bhakti Sharma has made the record of swimming in 5 oceans of the world. In 2010 he was awarded the ‘Tenzing Norway Award’.
Bhakti Sharma was born in Mumbai and brought up in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He holds a Master of Management in Communication from Symbiosis International University. She aspires to take the name of India to greater heights in the entire world.
Bhakti Sharma started swimming at the age of just two and a half years. After participating in several state and district level competitions, he first started swimming in open water (ocean). For the first time in the year 2003, 16 km from Uran port of ‘Gateway of India’. Took a long swim and kept moving forward. Bhakti Sharma has done commendable work in her short swimming career of 10 years and has set some milestones which include swimming from Shakespeare Beach Dover England to Calais France in 13 hours and 55 minutes on 6 July 2006 at the age of just 16. These included crossing the English Channel and winning a swimming competition in Lake Zurich.
On January 10, 2015, Bhakti Sharma swam 2.25 km in the cold waters of the Antarctic Ocean. Made a record of swimming till. She has become the first Asian woman in the world and the youngest to make this record.
