Mithali Raj (English: Mithali Raj, born: 3 December 1982) is an Indian women’s cricket player and captain. She is the first female cricket player to score a double century in a Test cricket match. Mithali believes that “there is a need to promote women’s cricket. For that, good sponsors should come forward.” Mithali watches cricket on television only to see the magic of Sachin Tendulkar’s bat and play some of the same shots. Mithali Raj was born on 3 December 1982 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She has also received training in ‘Bharatanatyam’ dance and has given many stage programs. Due to cricket, she stayed away from her Bharatnatyam dance classes for a long time. Then the dance teacher advised her to choose between cricket and dance. His mother Leela Raj was an officer. His father Dheeraj Raj Dorai was in the Air Force before working in Raj Bank. He himself has been a cricketer and made every possible effort to encourage Mithali. He cut down his expenses to bear Mithali’s travel expenses. Similarly, his mother Leela Raj also made many sacrifices.
When Mithali Raj participated in an international test match for the first time, she was out on a duck (zero) without scoring any runs. But she progressed in her career on the basis of her hard work and set a record by scoring 214 runs, the highest score till date in international women’s cricket. He made this history in 2002 while playing against England. After a gap of several years, the women’s cricket team again toured England under the leadership of Mithali Raj in July 2006.
