New Delhi. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis has been elected the leader of the Maharashtra legislature party. Fadnavis’s name was approved unanimously in the legislature party meeting held on Wednesday. Observers Nirmala Sitharaman, Vijay Rupani and other senior party leaders were present in this meeting. Fadnavis expressed gratitude to the party MLAs, observers and central leadership on the occasion. Reiterating the slogan given during the elections, he said, “If there is one, it is safe and if there is Modi, it is possible.”

Addressing the MLAs, Devendra Fadnavis said, “This massive mandate increases our responsibility. We have to live up to the expectations of the people and take the state to new heights of development. We are preparing a new India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Will work hard to fulfill the promises made.”

Swearing in ceremony tomorrow at 5 pm
Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday at 5 pm. This will be the third term of his political career. Fadnavis’ name was proposed by Chandrakant Patil, which was supported by Sudhir Mungantiwar. Apart from this, Pankaja Munde, Praveen Darekar, Ravindra Chavan, Ashok Uike and many other MLAs also expressed their support.
BJP’s historic victory
In the assembly elections held on November 20, BJP gave its best performance so far by winning 132 out of 288 seats. The BJP-led Mahayuti, in alliance with Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party, has a huge majority of 230 seats.
