Mumbai Devendra Fadnavis is going to take oath as the CM of the Mahayuti government of Maharashtra today at 5.30 pm. Along with him, Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar will also take oath as Deputy CM. The swearing-in ceremony is to be held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Apart from PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, about 10 Union Ministers, CMs and Deputy CMs of NDA ruled states are also going to be present in the swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis. Altogether 42000 people including 2000 VVIPs will reach Azad Maidan to watch the swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis. Tight security has been maintained for this and more than 4000 policemen have been deployed.
Meanwhile, the English newspaper Hindustan Times has reported that Eknath Shinde has agreed to join the government, but is adamant on taking the Home Department. The newspaper quoted Shiv Sena sources as saying that Eknath Shinde has given the example of Chhagan Bhujbal. Who was made Deputy CM in Vilasrao Deshmukh government and was given the Home Department. According to the news, Eknath Shinde also wants to make 12 Shiv Sena MLAs ministers. However, earlier it was reported that Eknath Shinde will be given an important department like urban development. However, it is certain that Shinde will take oath as Deputy CM. Eknath Shinde has given a statement twice before that whatever PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah decide, it will be acceptable to them.
Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra has performed tremendously this time in the assembly elections. On behalf of Mahayuti, BJP won 132 seats. At the same time, 57 candidates of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena have reached Maharashtra Assembly after winning. Whereas, Ajit Pawar’s NCP has won 41 seats. At the same time, in the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi, Uddhav Thackeray’s party has won 20 seats, Congress 16 and Sharad Pawar’s party has won only 10 seats. The condition is that no opposition party can become the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly. Because no opposition party has got 29 seats.
